Zoholics India 2026 | Chennai | Part 4 of 4
A customer changes the requirement. Sales revises the commitment. Operations checks capacity. Finance checks the account. Someone opens a spreadsheet to work out whether the promise can still be kept.
Consider what that means for leadership: the market has moved, but the business is still assembling the context it needs to respond.
Our first Zoholics perspective explored where business value is moving. The second examined the gaps customers still experience. The third asked whether the partner proposition is keeping pace. This fourth and final instalment turns to the platform—and what Zoho announced, revealed and showcased at Zoholics India 2026 in Chennai.
Our reading is that industry understanding, connected context, useful AI action and adoption are moving closer together. The business question is whether those capabilities can help close today’s operating gaps while creating capacity for what comes next.
The market won’t wait for the operating model to catch up
The requirements discussed across this series came from different perspectives. Customers described manual handoffs. Prospects questioned fit. Partners discussed operating exceptions. Sales and product conversations brought urgency, feasibility and adoption into the same frame.
For XAAS Genie, those signals point to a higher bar: technology should help the business respond with a coherent process, the relevant information and a clear owner for the next step. A new feature becomes commercially meaningful when it changes one of those conditions.
Zoho’s DAP launch provides a direct example of listening becoming a product response. Zoho describes customers struggling to use applications tailored to their own processes, even after successful implementation. Its response was to put guidance inside the application, where the task happens. Its official Zoholics post makes that adoption problem explicit.
That does not establish that every reveal followed the same route. It does show why an operating problem is a more useful starting point for the platform conversation than a feature checklist.
Every industry has its own rules. Does the software understand them?
Zoho’s industry announcement spans retail, automotive, BFSI, healthcare, education, real estate and restaurants. It presents vertical depth alongside the breadth of its existing applications.
The business implication is specific. A dealer’s service process, a lender’s approval path and a property sales journey require different records, terminology and controls. A generic configuration can leave people translating between the system and the way their industry operates.
Our view is that industry context belongs in the business case. Which requirements come as standard? Which exceptions still need design? Where would an extension or integration improve the fit? Those questions determine the work needed to make a platform useful in practice.
For partners, the opportunity is to understand the exceptions that slow execution or dilute value. For customers, the evaluation should reach beyond the demonstration to the circumstances under which the process becomes difficult. Industry relevance has to survive those circumstances.
Knowing the answer shouldn’t require three logins and a spreadsheet
Zoho’s Zoholics launch post presents Zia Chat as a conversational interface across applications, with external connections through MCP. Zoho Partners ties that direction to the effort customers spend navigating separate systems.
Consider a renewal decision. The account owner may need the commercial history, unresolved service issues and the payment position before deciding what to say. The information may exist, yet the decision still waits while someone reconstructs the picture.
That is why connected context matters to leadership. A decision can be delayed by the effort needed to establish the facts, even when each department has its own functioning system. The opportunity is to make the relevant context easier to reach and use.
The wider Chennai picture also included Flow in Zoho’s official event roundup. XAAS Genie’s field notes highlighted developments in Analytics, Zoho One, People Plus and developer tools. Creator and Flow provide established capabilities for extending processes and connecting handoffs this is context for interpreting the event direction, rather than a claim that every current feature debuted there.
Our test is practical: can the team reach a clearer, more timely decision with fewer exports, calls and reconciliations? The answer has to be established in the customer’s process.
An answer is useful. Follow-through is where value moves.
The agent direction discussed in XAAS Genie’s Chennai field notes takes the conversation from assistance toward action. Zoho’s documentation describes Zia Agents carrying out tasks and multi-step workflows within user permissions, Agent Studio supports custom agent creation.
AgentInbox adds a revealing detail. Zoho’s official event roundup includes it, and the launch documentation describes dedicated agent mailboxes, separate credentials and auditability. Even an AI agent needs an operating identity.
For a business leader, the implication reaches beyond the novelty. An analysis, a draft and an action that changes a customer commitment carry different responsibilities. Clear authority and accountability become more consequential as the technology can do more.
Before delegating a workflow, we would define which actions are authorised, where a person reviews an exception and who remains accountable for the result. We would test missing information and contradictory records. These are XAAS Genie’s delivery criteria, they are not a claim that every control is automatically supplied by one product.
SalesIQ also features in the official event roundup. Taken together, these signals invite a useful customer question: when the conversation changes, can the process preserve its context and carry the next step through appropriately?
A smarter platform. A stronger operating model?
The final test in this series is adoption. Zoho DAP’s in-app guidance directly addresses the difficulty of using systems built around a company’s own workflows. Fortify, also named in the official Zoholics roundup, focuses on secure coding skills. They address different needs, but both put attention on the people expected to work with an evolving technology environment.
For XAAS Genie, that completes the story: industry fit, connected context, controlled action and people using the system. A stronger operating model needs all four to work together.
Start with one visible gap. A handoff that repeatedly loses context. An approval that arrives after the commitment. A customer escalation that requires another round of internal calls. Define the owner and the current delay, rework or exception pattern. Then test whether the proposed change improves the process.
These are proposed evaluation questions, not reported customer results. Their purpose is to bring the discussion back to execution: what improves in the working day, and can the business recognise the change?
Close today’s gaps. Build capacity for what comes next.
This concludes our four-part Zoholics India 2026 series. The ecosystem conversation led us to the customer’s operating gaps. Those gaps raised the bar for partners. The platform response brings the conversation back to the business: what can now be made more connected, usable and accountable?
Our interpretation of Chennai is that the opportunity increasingly lies in how industry knowledge, data, automation and AI come together around the process. Turning that opportunity into value is a shared task for platform teams, partners and customers.
For business leaders: where does a decision still wait for someone to assemble the answer? For partners and analysts: what evidence would demonstrate that connected AI is improving execution? For Zoho’s teams: which operating exceptions deserve closer examination?
